My wife and I have had the distinct pleasure of having Avalanche perform at two weddings; our own some 16 years ago (second marriage for me), and my daughter's wedding in September 2013. Our experience was so remarkably similar that my comments pertain to both events. We wanted to have smaller, less formal weddings which meant we wanted to have live music which spoke more directly to our hearts. Finding Avalanche was just what we were looking for; acoustic music performed beautifully by two classically trained pros. Their music is so well balanced between an accomplished guitarist and a virtuoso violinist that it transported our experience to a completely higher level. Each guest that attended remarked on how the music MADE the event. Avalanche advertises their music as "conversation friendly", but we found a much more direct connection between our guests and the music. In fact, people lingered at our weddings longer than we had expected largely because of the music. At our first wedding my uncle, who was then quite advanced in age, pulled up a chair and just broadly smiled throughout the performance. I had never seen him so happy. We found the fees Avalanche charged were more than reasonable. In addition, Liz made sure to check with the Bride and Groom to see what their tastes in music were, and then compiled a custom playlist just for them. In my daughter's case she loves the Beatles, and so they interspersed Beatles tunes generously throughout the day. Liz also consulted with the Minister and made sure their music came in right on cue throughout the ceremony. Avalanche provided not just music, they constructed the most beautiful and perfect soundtrack for one of the most important days of our lives.

I am so delighted to write a review for Avalanche! I first heard
their uplifting music when they were performing locally. I knew they could
add so much joy to our upcoming wedding celebration. I just didn't know how
much!! I bought their CDs and then listened to so much of their music samples
online as well. Avalanche offers music from so many genres. They play
everything from classics to contemporary! After contacting them to arrange
our wedding play date, they even learned a new song just for our asking and
choice needs. The planning and details were simple. As a very professional
musical duo, they had very few needs which allowed us to focus on other sweet
details of our evening. On the eve of our wedding, they arrived like humble
sweet guests and then quickly transformed the entire evening with their
musical talent! At one point my new bride and I took a short walk outside our
venue just to listen to how perfect the evening was going and how sweet the
music. The musical talents of these two brought tears, laughter and dancing
